Mississippi State Preview

We are 76 days from the start of the college football season, and like every Friday it's time for the Dominate365 SEC Power Ranking.
#9 MISSISSIPPI STATE

We are now in year four of the Dan Mullen era at Mississippi State so far he's 21-17, but many believe he's truly one of the best coaches in the SEC. So lets be honest does being just above .500 at Miss State make you a great coach? For me the jury is still out. Miss State will have a good defence in 2012 bringing back 7 starters from last years group which ranked 35th in total defence, but they will be missing Fletcher Cox. To me the key to their season lays in the hands of how good can this Dan Mullen offence be? They lose QB Chris Relf and RB Vick Ballard, also they will need to rebuild their O-Line. Tyler Russell has experience at QB, but has never played with a lot of consistency.

W -Win / L - Lose / ? - Swing Game

I'm calling for Mississippi State to finish 8-4. They have 3 really important swing games all of which are at home so I'm going to give them two out of the three, so 9-3 isn't out of reach for the Bulldogs. Mullen is an offensive mastermind, and I think he will be able to get the best out of Russell as the full time starter.
