My way to early top 25 for 2012 CFB
(Updated 7/12/2012)
(Updated 7/12/2012)
1. Alabama- They lose Trent, but Lacy, Heart, and 5-star Yeldon will match 2011 rushing output behind a very experienced O-line. The D will take a hit, but returns key contributors in all three levels with Williams, Mosley, and Lester.
2. Oregon- the Ducks will be without James who is taking his game to the pro’s but Barner is just as good of a playmaker. It wil...l be a close race for the BCS between them and USC
3. LSU - they will need to find a QB but I’m not so sure that’s a bad thing. There running attack will be one of the best in the nation along with most of the Defense returning.
4. USC- They will be the most talented team in that nation thanks in part to Barkley’s return, but the one thing in my mind keeping them out of the top two is Lane Kiffin. He has proven to be a good coach, but I’m not solid yet if he can be an elite coach and beat Oregon twice.
5. Michigan- the Wolverines will be lead by senior Roberson, and one of the best Defenses in the Big10. Hoke is a proven winner in college football, and I look for them to win the Big10 this season. Big showdown in week one verse Alabama.
6. Oklahoma- With the return of Jones and a returning O-Line I see the Sooners back in a BCS game after a disappointing injury filled 2011.
7. Georgia- With a lot of their key players returning and a very soft schedule I don’t see how the Dawgs don’t win 10 games and the East again.
8. Florida State- Very disappointing year in 2011, but I look for the Noles to finally get to the top of a weak ACC.
9. Ohio State- I think with Urban coaching a very talented Braxton Miller at QB the Buckeyes could add 4 more wins onto last year’s 6-6 record.
10. South Carolina- The ole ball coach did maybe his best coaching job this past season getting USC to a 10 win season. I think they can get close to that again but must replace key playmakers in Jeffery, and Ingram.
11. Texas- There is talent on this longhorn’s squad, but for some reason the past few seasons they just haven’t shown it. I think if they can get past Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry then they could be in the front seat to winning another Big12 Championship.
12. West Virginia- The team that just hung 70 on Clemson in the Orange bowl. There Offence will stay explosive, but they will have to win games in shootouts because there D will be weak.
13. Arkansas- Hogs will have a new coaching staff for 2012 with new HC John L Smith, but they return some of their top WR along with QB Wilson also Nile Davis will be back to take some pressure off of the passing attack.
14. Clemson- the Tigers still has lots of talent, but there issue seems lie in their head. They have a real shot of getting back to a BCS bowl with Boyd and Watkins leading the way.
15. TCU- the Frogs will prove this year they can win year in a year out in a BCS conference. Patterson is one of the best coaches in CFB.
16. Notre Dame- Chip Kelly will eventually get them back to a BCS bowl. I think this season they get close, but will need to get the turnover margin turned around form 2011.
17. Missouri- Welcome to the SEC. The Tigers will actually do fairly well in still a down SEC East. Franklin is a solid QB and could be one of the SEC best offensive units.
18. Wisconsin- the Badgers will take a big fall form 2011 with Wilson graduating. Ball looks to lead this team, but not sure if the TD machine can carry this team back to Big10 Championship game.
19. Virginia Tech- they will have some drop off, but every year this team wins 10 games playing beamer ball.
20. Auburn- the Tigers still need to find a QB and I’m not sure they know where they want to go. Dyer is a huge loses for that offence along with Gus taking the HC spot at Arkansas State. I look for them to improve on defense just enough to keep 4th in SEC West.
21. Michigan St- Sparty’s will miss Cousins, but Mark Dantonio has build a solid program that should hold its own.
22. Bosie St- They loses a lot of players, but it’s hard to pick ageist them. They will be down this season, but I still look for them be a 9 win team.
23. Florida- The Gator will still be rebuilding in year two of the Muschamp era, but I look to see marked improvements in the swap for 2012
24. Kansas St- the Wildcats kind of shocked everyone this past season and that won’t happen again. QB Klein is one of the best in CFB and anytime you have a playmaker at QB you’re a treat to win week in and week out.
25. Louisville- Charlie Strong is in his 3rd season now, and won 7 games last year with a very young team. I look for them to add two or three more wins in 2012.
2. Oregon- the Ducks will be without James who is taking his game to the pro’s but Barner is just as good of a playmaker. It wil...l be a close race for the BCS between them and USC
