John Calipari accomplished a lot this year, he became only the second coach to ever take three different teams to the Final Four, He's fully out of Rick Pitino's shadow, and he has finally lifted up the national title trophy. The question is after three final fours, and now a national championship what is next for coach Cal?
He's already tried the NBA and it didn't work out for him, and I don't see a Pete Carroll type deal where he doesn't make it in the pro's comes back to college dominates, and then back for a second try with the NBA.
Will he go the way of Bill Donovan? On top of the world in college basketball, but then goes off the radar for a few years before ever getting back. I don't think that will happen either Calipari is too good at bringing in the one and done kids to never have a solid team.
Will he become the Nick Saban of college Basketball and go on to make a few more final fours and win a couple championships along the way? Right now unless he cheated again that he will become the Nick Saban of college basketball.
I've never cared for Kentucky or John Calipari, but it just felt right last night watching Kentucky left up the title and cut down the nets, and I think that will be something you will be seeing a lot more of in years to come.
