Maybe it was the long layoff or compressed schedule, but basketball product that the NBA has produced this season has been sloppy at best. I know that the regular season in the NBA is usually just an up and down the court with no real defense play. There's never a lot of intensity in the regular season, but this season has been passionless. Then comes the playoffs (the real season starts) the last two nights you have seen teams playing defence, with intensity, passion etc... How great would the NBA be if every team played like the Clippers did in the fourth quarter all season? Why can't Andrew Bynum block 10 shoots during the regular season? Why don't the Celtics and Hawks play with the same intensity as they did in the final five minutes of game one? How many teams did the Heat hold under 70 in the regular season? None.
I though the shorter season would maybe make the play of the regular season better. It was so compressed that teams didn't get a lot of rest which equaled sloppy play. I'm just glad that the poor excuse play of the regular season is over, and the playoffs are here.
